I’m so excited to announce my latest project y’all: Until All Of Us Are Free.
What is it: Until All Of Us Are Free is a year-long, multimedia project dedicated to Black liberation as collective liberation. It will contain written posts and content, video, audio, social media and more - all dedicated to Black liberation and how Black liberation requires a collective liberation approach, and how all other fights for liberation require Black liberation as well.
How will it work? Each month, we will look at a different social justice topic and how it intersects with and is impacted by anti-Blackness and the fight for Black liberation. We will have video and podcast discussions with intersectional Black liberation movement workers, written content, downloadable content, social media content and more. Each week of the month, we will look at different aspects of the issue and what it means for Black liberation work.
Who is it for? Black liberation is at the heart of my work, and I wanted to focus this year’s work on Black liberation because I feel like it is the best current use of my time, talents and experience - and frankly, my heart really needs to be working in community right now. But anyone can, and should, access and utilize the tools here! Because we are talking about issues impacting multiple communities, and because this is a collective liberation project, anyone concerned with justice and organizing work will find useful information and inspiration here for how you can deepen your collective liberation work. I’ve worked hard to make this as accessible as possible. No content is behind paywalls (except for the ability to comment on posts) and a lot of the content will be downloadable for your own use. I only ask that you do not remove any attribution to me for this content, do not use this content for profit, ask permission before reprinting on a large scale, and distribute only for educational purposes.
When will content post? We will launch the month’s focus on the first Wednesday of each month with a large video and podcast episode and extensive episode notes. If there are any delays to this schedule, I’ll do my best to keep you updated as soon as possible. More content should post midweek throughout the month for each topic. When does this launch? This Wednesday, January 1st! I’m so excited ya’ll. For our first month, we’ll be talking about Palestine and Black liberation.
What is coming in future months? I have a lot planned for this year and we’ll be covering a lot of important topics. February we’ll be talking about gender justice. Later in the year we’ll dive into topics like policing, disability justice, Congo, Sudan, unions and worker rights and a lot more!
How can I support this project? Right now, this project is 100% self-funded. I’m covering the cost of design, podcast and video production, and all of the time and labor I’m putting into creating these materials. I’m not gonna lie folks, it’s been a rough couple of years for a lot of us and we are likely headed into more rough times. But our existence now is a testament to the collective work of past generations. We can get through this because we have gotten through this.
